1001 Kitchen & bar is a contemporary restaurant tucked away in a 1980s building on the Havendijk. The large open space is where simplicity and luxury come together. Havendijk is a historic street in Schiedam on the well-known neighborhood the Gorzen.
The Gorzen is a neighborhood with many small houses. Here lived in the early twentieth century mainly workers of the Schiedam shipyards Wilton Feijenoord, the Nieuwe Waterweg and Gusto. In De Gorzen there are monumental houses of the former city architect Pieter Sanders, some of which have been renovated or restored.
The Maasboulevard is also located in the Gorzen. Views over the Maas and the skyline of Rotterdam and many Schiedammers who stay by the water in the summer months. Cycling, sunbathing, walking and skating. And at the beginning of the summer the annual 't Maasboulevardfeest takes place here.
